Currently I'm working on an urban opera entitled The Family. This opera is a comment on the state of "family" in our society and how it is affected by "pop culture" and "pop culture" values as told through two acts of music, drama and dance. It incorporates the use of full orchestra, children's choir, soloists, and adult chorus. It follows the frenzied journey from birth through adulthood dealing with the choices we make in becoming full and complete selves. The piece takes a hard look at the "self" and attempts to destroy the "chains" that bind and offer up a "cure" of personal responsibility for our lives. — Patrick.
